Cancun

Washing Machines are quite good, and Dryers also. So a washer-dryer must be amazing! Not true, as anyone who has struggled with one will attest. They wash badly, and dry even worse.

A highly-regarded correspondent recommended a visit to Coco Bongo’s, a nightclub-and-show all-in-one, described as the “best nightclub ever” by the highly-regarded correspondent, and as “Vegas meets Partytime” by the adverts. It was quite impressive (certainly in concept), but considered as a show it is mediocre, and taken as a nightclub it has all the atmosphere of an interval bar.

We were in a washer-dryer! (But needless to say, we had fun anyway.)

If you only have one space in your kitchen, just buy a washing machine.

I wish we had known this before having a washer/dryer in St Martin- although on a serious note the different climatic conditions need to be considered before making a rational decision

True, a washer-dryer might be worth the extra pain in an Alpine chalet where drip-drying is difficult. Still, remember you can only dry half a load after you’ve washed a full one.
A washer-dryer in Mexico, though, is an odd choice, especially if it’s supposed to be a nightclub!

I believe there’s a nightclub in Brixton called Fridge.

Fridge-freezers are fine as long as you are happy with the volumes you are getting.

I am a massive fan of my washer/dryer and I even have space for both separately (in my utility room), I think that the technology must have advanced. I just stick it on when leaving for work a pull out clean dry clothes/sheets/towels in the evening on my return.

Was the best nightclub ever better than the “biggest music club in middle europe”, which I attended on Saturday?

I’m always looking for success stories, and yours is just a dream come true! The one I used couldn’t automatically run washing followed by drying - probably out of fear it would be overloaded.
I don’t think anything beats the “biggest music club in middle europe” (in Prague, to those unenlightened). Coco Bongo did have a flying dwarf, however.
